Sending packages locally often comes with anxiety: Will the rider arrive? Is my parcel safe? How do I know it was actually delivered to the correct person?

Zaruni’s Deliver & Logistics Module takes the guesswork out of local delivery. Whether you are a business sending products to customers or an individual sending a package to a friend, our platform provides real-time GPS tracking, direct communication, upfront pricing, and secure digital handoff codes.

Here is how to book and track your deliveries with bulletproof proof of receipt.

1. Booking a Delivery in the Zaruni App

Getting a rider is quick and simple:

  1. Open the Zaruni app and select the Deliver tab.
  2. Enter Pickup Details: Specify the pickup address, sender contact details, and any special pickup instructions (e.g., “Ask at the reception”).
  3. Enter Drop-off Details: Input the destination address, recipient name, and active phone number.
  4. Describe the Item: Choose the category (e.g., documents, electronics, clothing, fragile items) and estimated weight. This helps us dispatch the appropriate vehicle (boda boda, car, or pickup).
  5. Review the Price: The app calculates an upfront, transparent delivery fee based on distance. There are no hidden charges.
  6. Confirm & Pay: Pay the delivery fee using your Zaruni Ledger Balance.

2. Real-Time Tracking & Rider Assignment

Once booked, our logistics engine pairs your request with the nearest verified rider.

  • Rider Details: You will see the rider’s name, profile photo, ratings, vehicle registration plate, and phone number in your active delivery tab.
  • Live Map Tracking: Watch the rider’s live location on the map as they move to the pickup point, and then to the drop-off location.
  • Share Tracking Link: You can send a secure tracking link directly to the recipient via WhatsApp, SMS, or email, allowing them to watch the rider’s progress in real-time without needing to download the Zaruni app.

3. The Secure Handoff: Digital Proof of Delivery

To prevent parcels from being lost or delivered to the wrong person, Zaruni uses a Double-Verification Handoff System.

  1. When booking, the system generates a unique Delivery QR Code on the recipient’s phone (or sends it via SMS/link if they don’t have the app).
  2. When the rider arrives, they must physically scan this QR code using the Zaruni Rider App.
  3. Once scanned, the delivery status is marked as Complete in our system, and the sender is instantly notified.

Option B: Recipient Signature & Photo

If a QR code is not available:

  1. The rider will ask the recipient for their full name and signature inside the Zaruni app.
  2. The rider is also required to take a photo of the package at the drop-off location (e.g., at the door or held by the recipient).
  3. This signature and photo are attached to the delivery receipt, creating a permanent, audit-ready record.

4. Handling Problems: Damage, Delays, or Lost Items

We maintain a highly vetted fleet of delivery riders, but unexpected events can occasionally happen. Here is how Zaruni protects your packages:

What to Do If a Package is Damaged

  • Do Not Accept: If you are the recipient and notice the package is broken or tampered with, do not scan the QR code or sign for it.
  • Document the Issue: Take clear photos of the damaged packaging and the contents while the rider is still present.
  • Report Instantly: Open the active delivery in the app and tap Report Issue. Select “Damaged Item” and upload your photos.

Parcel Insurance & Coverage

All deliveries booked entirely through the Zaruni platform are eligible for basic cargo protection. If our investigation confirms that the damage or loss was due to rider negligence, Zaruni will compensate the sender based on the declared item value (up to the standard coverage limit).

How to Prevent Delivery Scams

  • Verify Rider Details: Always double-check that the rider who arrives matches the name, photo, and license plate shown in the app. Never hand over packages to a rider who claims to be “representing” the assigned driver unless updated in the app.
  • No Cash to Riders: All payments for delivery services should be processed through the app. Never pay riders additional cash unless specifically agreed upon for special off-route requests (such as parking fees or tolls).

By using Zaruni’s digital verification codes and live GPS tracking, you can send packages across the city with total confidence.
